Education<\/h3>

The UNESCO Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve is a place to learn and experience. There are many topics that are taught there:<\/p>

  • Experience nature with all your senses.<\/li>
  • Knowledge about animals, plants and habitats of the Elbe.<\/li>
  • Tips for protecting the environment and the climate.<\/li><\/ul>

    The aim is to promote good coexistence between people and nature. There are many exciting learning opportunities in the information facilities, on guided tours or at lectures.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Information points<\/h3>

    There are information points in every federal state in the \"Elbe River Landscape\" biosphere reserve. Visitors can find out more about the region there.
    The exhibitions provide information on:<\/p>

    • the landscapes and special features of the Elbe,<\/li>
    • history and life in the region,<\/li>
    • the tasks and objectives of the biosphere reserve.<\/li><\/ul>

      There are also tips for excursions and places of interest. Each information point has its own website with further information.<\/p>

      Biosphere kindergartens and schools<\/h3>

      Kindergartens and schools in the biosphere reserve work closely with the administrations. This cooperation is part of \"Education for Sustainable Development\" (ESD), a UNESCO program.
      Some kindergartens and schools have been recognized as \"biosphere kindergartens\" or \"biosphere schools\". They promote:<\/p>

      • the protection of nature,<\/li>
      • learning about the biosphere<\/li><\/ul>

        These awards are part of an initiative that links national parks, biosphere reserves and nature parks throughout Germany. The cooperation is recognized with a certificate and plaque. The aim is to establish a close and long-term partnership.<\/p>
